Thierry de Cock Buning

Thierry serves as Vice President, Finance & Treasurer at LanzaJet, bringing more than 20 years of global experience in financial leadership, strategic planning, and business performance management across the energy and industrial sectors.

Prior to joining LanzaJet, Thierry held a range of senior finance roles at Shell, with international experience spanning the Netherlands, Qatar, and the United States. He has worked across multiple energy sectors, including LNG, Exploration, and, over the past decade, Refining and Chemicals, building deep expertise in financial leadership, performance management, risk oversight, and strategic decision support for large, complex operations.

Thierry holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

He and his wife Christina live near Deerfield and are raising three boys under the age of 15.
